Flour Recipe ⇒ Sausage Balls with Flour

Trying to get away from processed foods, I created a recipe for sausage balls that uses flour and doesn't use baking mix.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bulk spicy pork sausage, at room temperature
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Combine sausage, Cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, salt, onion powder, seasoned salt, and dry mustard in a large bowl.
  3. Form into walnut-size balls and place on rimmed nonstick baking sheets.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and no longer pink in the centers, about 20 minutes.
Cheese and seasoning can be altered to individual taste.
